Prismacolor colored pencils are my absolute favorite way to color! They are smooth, blend-able, and come in sooooo many colors! These are my go-to for coloring in skin tones on characters! They even have a pencil set dedicated to portraits and skin tones. Or you can go the more traditional route, and purchase a set of rainbow colors. I recommend the 24 set.
